Our Thanksgiving Feast

For our feast each child was in charge of bringing one item to the feast to share with everyone.  The instructions sent home were for  them to help make it or even do most of the work by them selves.  I really wanted this to be their feast.

So they set and decorated the table themselves. 

I stayed almost completely out of it, they gave each other jobs, and made sure everything got done.

All done... great right?

Our feast.  I wanted it to be family style.  We discussed manners, and passing food, and scooping onto our plates, also portion control (making sure their is enough for everyone), also how to polity no like something. :)  They pored their own drinks and scooped their own food.  Most of them were SURE they couldn't do those things, but after a little encouragement and some scaffolding, they were all experts and quite confident.

What a great bunch!
