We had a gingerbread man day. We read 3 different versions of the gingerbread man story through out the day.
At the art table we decorated cardboard gingerbread men and houses with some puffy flour paint. I set our some examples, and also we talked about doing lines and dots to decorate them. I just kind of wanted them to be intentional with their art today.
Well, I did a horrible job at documenting our work. Some of the kids did a great job at being intentional with their decorations - while others just wanted to fill the whole thing with paint. I brought down my microwave and once the kiddos were done with their house/man we popped them in the microwave for 30 seconds to a minute. This puffed up the paint and made it hard. Every time we opened the microwave we hoped our gingerbread man would not jump out and run away. I am happy to report we had no such escapes!
