Christmas Tree Science

This was a fun sensory table idea that I found online.  Although the kids found it kind of fun, it was not as cool as I had hoped.

I mixed water, baking soda, and food coloring together and froze it in a cone shape.  Then I sprinkeled baking soda around the trees.  I filled up some squirter bottles and some dishes with water droppeers with vinegar.

The website said it would fizzle like it should.  But they didn't really.  It more just melted.  Probably could have had the same reaction with warm water.

But the kids did enjoy melting the trees.
