It was our first snow of the year (and still only), and the kids could hardly contain their excitement. So I put off my plan for our sensory play and filled it with snow. What a hit - playing with snow inside!
Also - on the note of snow, I make sure we get outside everyday. Even if it is just 10 minutes. On the days with snow it can feel overwhelming, there are coats, and hats, and gloves, and boots, and they all need help and I am hopelessly out numbered. But it is always worth it and the kids have learned to be very patient and wait their turn to be helped, AND they are learning to do it themselves, because they can see that would be much faster.
