When watermelons came into season we spent a day really exploring them. We read "The watermelon seed."
Then we explored a watermelon. We rolled it, and knocked on it, and, of course, lifted it, and weighed it.
These are the words the kids came up with the describe a watermelon.
Before we weighed it each child guessed how much they thought it weighed. It ended up weighing 12 lbs. Hayden and Brecken came in the closest!
