Growing Carrots and Green Onions

I wanted to grow something IN preschool - but we didn't have enough time to sprout a seed util school was out - -and we didn't have very god luck in the fall sprouting a lima bean in a bag.  I did some research and found that you can regrow carrot tops and green onions in just a few days.  So we gave it a try.

We wrote the words carrot and onion and drew a picture and then everyone measured how big they were on day one and recorded. it.

And as usual I didn't take any pictures along the way or recording them - But I did get one or tow.  The green onions were very successful - they grew inches and inches every day - it was very exciting.  You can keep cutting them and they will keep re growing!

The carrots were slower - after about 4 days we got a sprout shoot up over night.  After about a week they were coming up all over the place.  We drew and remeasured and recorded each day in our journal.
