P is for Pouring Pumpkin Soup

Materials:  Water in pin, and orange water in squeeze bottles.  Pumpkin seeds.  Salt in salt shakers.  Lots of spoons, whisks, ladles, bowls, and cups.

This was one of my busiest sensory bins ever.  There was so much going on!  And unlimited access to a salt shaker... yes please!

It kept me busy - refilling salt shakers and the orange squeeze bottles - but it was well worth it!

  1. Talk to me about carpet cleaning. Do you worry about it? Do you put down mats and is that sufficient? Do you just let it get dirty? Mostly I just let it get dirty and encourage the kids to keep stuff on the table. I'm wondering if I need to invest in a good carpet cleaner or some mats, though.

Either way, it makes me so happy to see all of your pictures of kids making messes, because you get it. That's how they learn, and it should be respected. I'm a big fan of mess-making. Now if only I could get as good at the cleaning up part...
